The American Peptide Society (APS), a nonprofit scientific and educational organization founded in 1990, provides a forum for advancing and promoting knowledge of the chemistry and biology of peptides. The EPS is a non-profit association established for the public benefit to promote in Europe and in certain neighbouring countries the advancement of education and in particular the scientific study of the chemistry, biochemistry, and biology of peptides. The Indian Peptide Society is a non-profit association, established to promote in India the advancement of education and research, in particular the scientific study of the Chemistry, Biochemistry and Biology of Peptides. The International Regulatory Peptide Society promotes scientific meetings and exchanges devoted to all aspects of basic and clinical research on regulatory peptides and related topics thus keeping up the tradition of the International Symposia on Gut Hormones and Regulatory Peptides. The Japanese Peptide Society was organized and established in 1990 and has around 400 members who are actively pursuing research in various related areas including physical science, pharmaceutical science, agriculture, engineering, and medical sciences in universities, institutes and private companies. Peptide Division was founded in April 1997, as a part of the BioBio Society. The aim of the division is to make peptide research readily available for the large scientific community in Finland, promote research and education in peptide chemistry, peptide structure, peptide biochemistry and peptide technology, and act as the official Finnish collaborative body to international peptide organizations. The main activity of the Peptide Division is to organize national peptide symposium. We will also host the 30th European Peptide Symposium in 2008. The British Royal Society of Chemistry Protein and Peptide Science Group was founded in 1973. Currently, it is part of the RSC Chemical Biology Forum. It has approx 600 members. The Group's interests cover peptide and protein structure determination, structure prediction, chemical synthesis and biosynthesis, molecular modelling and dynamics, separation and characterisation, protein expression, modification and targeting, protein design and engineering, etc. The Group is committed to paving the way into functional genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics. The Protein Society is the leading international society devoted to furthering research and development in protein science. The purpose of the Society is to provide national and international forums to facilitate communication, cooperation and collaboration with respect to all aspects of the study of proteins. |
